If your hair is the frame, your face is the masterpiece. Consider- ing how amazing your new hairstyle looks, this may sound daunting. However, the makeup techniques used to complete this glamorous look are easier than you think. From the gorgeous pigment used to make the model’s eyes pop, to creating the perfect pout, this instructional will inspire you to embrace your own inner crowning moment. PRIME & PREP As you prepare your skin, make sure that you moisturize at least an hour ahead of time, and use primer before ap- plying your foundation. I recommend applying both your primer, as well as your foundation, with a large foundation brush like Real Techniques foundation brush. FOUNDATION, CONTOUR, & POWDER After you prepare the canvas, it’s time to set the stage. A great foundation cover should be smooth to the touch, as well as pleasing to the eye. To slenderize your nose and highlight your cheek bones, you can either choose a great powder contour or go for a beautifully blended cream be- fore you apply your face powder. Once you are ready to apply your powder, we recommend also using a little bit of translucent powder over the top of your pressed pow- der to get a really smooth finish. I also like to use a pow- der puff to apply the powder. Then, go back with a large brush to sweep off any excess. Be sure that you also pow- der your neck and ears, as well, so that everything is blended in the same tone. 28 PAGEANTRY BEFORE Model: Caroline Dixon Miss Virgin Islands Teen United States Makeup: Liz Everett Glam Hair: Jasmine Brightman BLUSH & HIGHLIGHT It’s time to make your features pop! That comes with a stunning blush and bronzer combo. We are crazy about the Carli Bybel palette by BH Cosmetics because it has the bronzer and highlighter combos that we love the most. As you sweep your blush across the apples of your cheeks, be sure that you are conscious of creating symmetry. Then dip your brush into the bronzer and lightly trace under your cheek line to blend it, down the sides of your nose, under your neck, swiftly across the top of your forehead, and then on your chin, as well as the top part of your jawline. That will really bring the tones together visually. As a finishing touch to this portion, use a medium contour brush to apply the highlighter color to the outer corners of the top portion of your cheek.
