I nternational Junior Miss was back in California for its third year! IJM Cali- fornia is under the direction and leader- ship of Kristin Cramer. Forty-four beautiful ladies competed for six IJM Cal- ifornia titles and six IJM Golden State ti- tles. “I understand there are a lot of pageants to choose from in CA. I hope to appeal to girls ages 4-24 by giving them the opportunity to do more than just compete,” explained Kristin. “I want the girls to have fun, make wonderful memo- ries, and make new friendships. That, for me, is what pageantry is all about.” 80 PAGEANTRY The Pageantry Spirit award went to the lovely and talented Marissa Dollins in the Miss division. Marissa also won Miss Congeniality, 2nd runner up in Talent, 2nd runner up in Casual Wear, and 1st place in Spokesmodel. IJM has several optional competitions to choose from. Talent, photogenic, casual wear, spokesmodel and commercial were all competed for on Saturday afternoon. These were scored by a separate panel of judges and were awarded on Saturday evening. The optional competitions allow girls to express themselves and show off their extraordinary talents. There were also awards given for academic achievement and community service. On Saturday evening, a PJ party was hosted by the director. The girls had a great time laughing, singing, and getting to know each other. There was a gift ex- change that allowed some time for each girl to receive a gift from someone else in her division. The girls also had a great time playing games and dancing. On Sunday, the girls competed in the traditional Inter- view, Fun Fashion, and Gown categories. The ladies started the show with their “IJM Shake it Off!” opening dance num- ber. The pageant was full of energy, fun, and fast paced entertainment. All of the girls did a tremendous job working the stage in their fun fashion outfits and gor- geous gowns. They should all be very proud of themselves for doing something that is not as easy as it looks □ IJM CA Royalty Jr Princess ___________________Kaylyn Pecoy Princess ______________________Bianca Dent Pre-Teen _____________________Emma Yeszin Jr Teen ____________________Halle Thompson Teen _______________________Zoey Shockley IJM Miss CA _________________Fallon Williams Golden State Royalty Jr Princess ___________________Lili Duckwitz Princess_____________________Jayden Pecoy Pre-Teen _______________________Ana Tovar Jr Teen ______________________Katrina Mater Teen ________________________Amanda Fink IJM Miss Golden State__________Jade Johnson
