Tell us about your business, its history, and how you build customer loyalty.
Partytime Formals is a manufacturer of Prom, Pageant, Homecoming, and Social Occasion gowns. We also make gowns for toddlers and little girls. Partytime Formals is excited to introduce our Social Occasions / M.O.B. Collection. Our mission is that every girl deserves a moment in her life when she feels she is on top of the world. One of the key factors for achieving the ultimate success of her dream is finding the perfect dress. We strive to provide all customers with beautiful gowns of vibrant colors, stunning color combinations, and flowing fabrics at a great value.

What divisions (e.g., Prom, Pageant, Social Occasion, Bridal, etc.) do you design for and market?
Party Time Prom line; Prima Donna Collection, our awardwinning Pageant line; Princess Collection, our homecoming, social occasion, and moderate price prom line; Perfect Angels, our pageant line for toddlers and little girls; and, coming soon, our Social Occasions / M.O.B. Collection.

What size ranges do you offer?
Dresses in size ranges for every figure and shape: Prom, 0 – 30; Pageant, 0 – 16; Homecoming/Social Occasion, 0 – 30; Toddlers, 1T – 6T; and Little Girls, 2 – 14.

Please tell us more about how your company got started.
Being originally from the engineering profession, I didn’t have the slightest idea that I would be spending the last 21 years of my life in the fashion industry. One morning, somebody brought and showed me some samples of a fully beaded garment for evening wear and social occasion. That was the start of my new adopted profession, and as luck would have it, our very first customers were Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom, and other specialty stores.

How do you keep your design ideas current?
Our biggest inspiration comes from our retail stores and the customers who wear our dresses. Their gleaming happy faces while achieving their dreams is our driving force. They are our scouts, guides, and motivators, whose constructive ideas and great suggestions help us create dynamic designs every time. Certainly winning the DIVA Award in the pageant category for Prima Donna Collection is an added incentive to come up with excellent designs to meet our customers’ expectations.

As a designer, where do you receive the most satisfaction?
We want our retail clients to be excited about our products and to feel they are getting great gowns that will create excitement, joy, and the instant desire among their customers to buy the gowns of their dreams.

What fashion looks and fabric-usage trends do you predict will emerge in the coming year or two?
Every year the formal wear industry is growing. Prom girls are excited about beautiful gowns that will make them look like a princess and make a fashion statement on their special night. Pageant awareness is growing at every stage of the competition. Contestants are encouraged to express themselves, which leads to personal growth and self-confidence, no matter what age We are eager to watch the formal wear and pageant industry grow in the coming years, and we’re excited to see what trends will come out of it.

What aspects of the fashion business bring you the greatest satisfaction?
What we love are our customers and competition who drive us to accomplish more creative designs. It is very fulfilling when our customers say, “Wow, what a dress!” That creates an excitement to keep striving for more and better designs. Winning the DIVA Award and fulfilling our customers’s needs keeps us energized as we strive to achieve the even higher goals of maintaining customer loyalty and being recognized as an industry leader.
