For Prom or Mom...
Just Flowers Animated
That special night at the Prom, a long-awaited sorority dance, or a romantic evening on the town... you want to have a scene-stealing style! This spring’s fashions for the hair will fit anyone’s needs. With the new millennium in full swing, almost anything goes. Whether you have ultra short hair or a mane to your waist (or anywhere in between), look to the stars for the hottest trends... the young stars of Hollywood that is: Jennifer Love Hewitt (The Time of Her Life), Michelle Williams (Dawson’s Creek), and Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love), to name just a few beauties who are bringing soft sophistication back to our vocabulary.

Romantic
If it’s a romantic look you want this spring, there’s nothing better than soft curls -- whether created by Mother Nature or made with the help of rollers. Just add small flower accessories (try the hot new magnet ones), and be the center of attention. (See Photo to Right).

If you’re the innocent type (or just want to look that way for the evening), bold and bouncy natural ringlets are the way to go. Using your fingers only, comb through and lightly spray. Add tiny sparkle clips, soft eyes, and a pouty lip for the perfect touch.

Exotic
Feel like being a little exotic? Try slicking your hair up tightly into a ponytail and adding a faux bun or hairpiece. Secure with a few bobby pins, and this great look will last throughout the night with no fuss. (See Photo to Left).

Rock-n-roll has a huge influence this year on young America with stars like Britney and Brandy hitting the charts. Once again cutting-edge hipster is on the move. Braids are making a big impact (even at Prom). Just add small braids to any hairstyle for a hot-pop look.

Sexy
The sexy look is one of the most popular ways to wear a healthy mane this spring. To get the Cameron Diaz "do," add a light pomade or anti-friz gloss for a sleek tress that will make even the prom queen green with envy. Add a zigzag part, a few rhinestone barrettes, and take the crown away from her. (See Photo to Right)

Dramatic
Do you want a dramatic difference? Change a short or medium cut instantly to long and sophisticated locks with add-ons, falls, or extensions. A hairpiece is just like wearing a hair accessory once you get used to it. Portia De Rossi (Ali McBeal) has brought the glamour of ultra long locks back into the limelight. This fashion is simple with the right faux. Jeweled accessories are perfect for this elegant occasion. (See Photo to Left)

Want to play it safe? Updo’s are always a winner. Simply sweep hair into a smooth French twist. For a more dramatic feel, leave bangs soft and straight on forehead.

No matter what hairstyle you choose, the key to a finishing touch is gorgeous accessories. A prom or formal affair calls for rhinestone barrettes, flowers, or velcro beads. For a spring dance, butterflies and jeweled insects fit the occasion. Once you have chosen your look, top it off with a spray-on-shine, and you’ll definitely be the Belle of the Ball. These sparkling beauties are not just for holding your hair in place, they’re as important as your earrings and the smile on your face. Any hair length and style can wear them. And always match the accessory to the evening. On that special night, remember beauty comes from within, but these helpful hints won’t hurt!
