The International Presentation of Performers was particularly excited to announce its line-up for their iPOP! Concert Series that took place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The iPOP! Concert Series was part of the convention’s commitment to raise money for a specific charity each year and this iPOP! benefited the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which helps seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities.
The main ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel was filled to capacity this year as several talented individual and group performers came to sing and lend their support to the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Talent from Nickelodeon’s True Jackson VP, Twilight and So You Think You Can Dance? were all there on stage to sing, dance and perform their hearts out to inspire the young kids and teenagers who are attending iPOP!.
Over 1,200 children, teenagers and young adults were there to show their best to top talent agents, managers, producers and casting directors, got their chance during the concert to sit back and enjoy the performances that were presented to them and over 100 families from Starlight Children’s Foundation. The excitement was explosive. The special concert evening included a VIP silent auction cocktail party before the concert and an autograph session with the concert’s top talent afterwards. Attendees of iPOP! and children and families from Starlight Children’s Foundation got a terrific chance to meet some of the stars from Nickelodeon and Twilight in person.
The iPOP! concert started with Ashley Argota from Nickelodeon’s True Jackson VP. Ashley is a teen favorite with fans and plays Lulu Johnson opposite Keke Palmer on Nickelodeon’s hit show. Booboo Stewart, who plays Seth Clearwater in the Twilight film series, also performed. Booboo debuted in Eclipse and will have a larger role in the final installments of the Twilight saga in 2011 and 2012. The iPOP! Concert Series also had two different dance troupes perform, The Rage Boyz Dancers and The Mini Rage Dancers. These hip hop dancers from Los Angeles have been taking the dance world by storm with their show-stopping dance technique and wow factor. Hip hop singer from Los Angeles, Colton B. also performed along side the dancers.
The management team, the Jonas Group, sent their newest upcoming teen sensation group to perform as well. This pop band, Savvy, consists of six talented young singers who were discovered by Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Group and in their short time together the group has already started a television show entitled The Wannabes.
“iPOP! was so excited to have this amazing line-up of dancers and singers perform at the iPOP! Concert Series,” said iPOP! President, Joseph Beauchamp. “iPOP! loves to watch young talent on stage shine and this year is no exception. We were thrilled to welcome Twilight’s Booboo Stewart and Nickelodeon’s Ashley Argota. We are also so happy to be supporting and raising as much money as possible for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.” |
