Tell us about your business, its philosophy and mission.
Established in 2006, La Casa Hermosa, “The Most Beautiful Gowns in the House,” is located in Wellington, Florida—home to the International Polo Club, The National Horse Show, Palm Beach Zoo, and Lion Country Safari. A full-service pageant apparel salon, we specialize in first impressions: evening gowns, cocktail dresses, fancy suits, shoes and accessories. I founded La Casa Hermosa with a vision: to discover beautiful clothing for all figure types, at all price points. I buy a gown for its cut, fabric quality, color, and value, because even high-society women like to buy beautiful gowns at reasonable prices, especially if they need several during a season. We hosted the 2007 Pageantry & PromTime Fashion Showcase. We are open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., by appointment only.

Do you have a web site?
Our web site, lacasahermosa.com, includes the following lines: Claire's Collection Gowns, Jamye Shaw Swimwear, Jovani Homecoming Gowns, Platinum Collection Swimwear, Sherri Hill Couture Gowns, Tony Bowls Couture and Tony Bowls Evenings, three Prom collections, My Little Princess Collection, as well as accessories, jewelry, and footwear.

What divisions do you carry?
We specialize in national and state pageant gowns, carry preliminary pageant and prom gowns, and offer a wide selection of interview dresses and suits, swimwear competition garments, cocktail and personal appearance dresses, and accessories such as shoes and earrings.

Do you offer custom design services? If so, please explain.
Some of our unique services include complete competition wardrobe analysis for anyone in person or over the Internet. We have a couture line of gowns under the private label of La Casa Couture, where we design the dress of your dreams to your specifications, and execute on that design, keeping your figure and coloring all in perspective throughout the process. We also custom embellish existing gowns, and design custom accessories to accompany your gown or interview outfit.

Do you offer gown registry?
We offer gown registry for all La Casa Hermosa gowns that are sold from our shop.

How do you reach your customers and grow your relationship with them?
Many of our clients have found us through our advertisements in national magazines, but word of mouth is still the base of our business. We’ve had three national winners for 2007, and almost 40 state winners, most of whom have won the Evening Gown competition!

What social occasion fashion trends do you see becoming dominant in the coming year?
We’ve seen several trends developing this year. One that stands out is a return to the stage of fabrics such as chiffon, velvets, fully beaded, and in general, more dramatic designs and patterns. Notably, runway looks are crossing over onto competition stages, with designers such as Marc Bouwer and Johnathon Kayne launching new lines.

Where do you see your business and industry trends heading?
The impact of the recent media attention on pageant participants has drawn more interest in pageantry overall, and as a result, La Casa Hermosa is offering more custom services to truly help each contestant differentiate themselves from the crowd. We work with each client to create a complete competition wardrobe that expresses their unique attributes and catches the attention of the judging panel.

Why do you love what you do?
There is nothing more satisfying that helping someone showcase their strengths through great wardrobing. Pageantry is a fashion-driven competitive event, and when you feel great in your gown, your face reflects your feelings, and that is an unbeatable combination!
