When was your establishment first opened?
GLITZ! opened in October of 2005 as an annex to the Chapel of Love Wedding Chapel and Bridal Boutique, which I opened in Mall of America in April of 1994.

What do customers need to know about your business? What is your philosophy and mission?
GLITZ! is a locally owned, one location boutique that has grown into one of the premier gown shops in the country over the past five years. Well-regarded in the community by its vendors and many repeat customers, the philosophy behind GLITZ! has always been the same—have some fun, offer incredible service and carry the largest selection of gowns in the five-state area. It’s not unusual to walk into GLITZ! and find three consultants happily working with one client. The perfect gown, jewelry, shoes—we carry a great selection in all areas. GLITZ! strategically selects its gorgeous gowns one at a time. The hottest new designers are always quickly added to our collection. You will never find ho-hum at GLITZ!.
Our mission is to do the very best job that we can for you, by having a significant selection of designer gowns from which you can select. We offer an experienced pageant consultant to assist you, as well as a bright, upbeat environment to add to the fun.

What divisions do you carry?
We carry prom, pageant, social occasion, shoes, evening bags, jewelry and crown accessories.

Do you offer dress or gown registration?
Yes, we register pageant gowns.

Do you offer out-of-state shipping for non-local customers?
Of course! We generally charge $14.95 to ship a gown, except to Alaska and Hawaii. Some heavy gowns may be a bit more, in accordance with international shipping prices.

What special services do you offer to allow your customers a convenient shopping experience?
We offer private appointments for pageant gowns; after-hours appointments; shoes to try with your gowns; accessories to complete the look; and knowledgeable sales associates.

Describe some of the custom and unique services that you offer to your clients.
Many of our pageant gown designers are pleased to create a custom gown for you. We have an artistic jewelry designer available to create custom Swarovski crystal jewelry. We offer high quality alterations at reasonable prices.

Which designers do you carry?
For pageants, we carry Sherri Hill, Claire’s Collection, Jovani, Tony Bowls, Rodney Alfred and Sherry Couture. For proms, we carry over 30 designer boutique lines. As far as shoes, our selection includes Alisha Hill, Touch Ups, Dyeables and Special Occasions by Saugus Shoes.

Depending on age, is there really a big difference between a prom or pageant dress?
Yes! Pageant gowns have much higher quality construction, embellishment and fabrics. That isn’t to say that the two can’t ever cross over, but usually serious competitors want the best quality gown to showcase their figure and enhance their presence on stage.

Based on what you’ve seen at recent markets, what new styles excite you?
Shimmery two-tone fabrics, prints, large rhinestones and jewels, flowing skirts.

What trends do you see becoming dominant in the coming year, and where do you see the industry heading?
I think the most important trend is that it is always changing. You can’t rely on who or what is a hot designer one season to be the best the next season. You need to be vigilant. Our customers count on us to bring them the most current designs, featuring both high quality and value. We have never let them down.

Why do you love what you do?
Our entire team loves when the right girl puts on the perfect gown. It’s magic. We just know!
