Nationals 2005 in California is the backdrop for a week of fun!
The stage was set for a Thanksgiving Week of fun and excitement, as National American Miss rolled out the red carpet for 640 outstanding delegates from across the nation.
During their stay in Anaheim, delegates were treated to an array of activities that made the week more than a pageant event — it was, indeed, the family vacation to treasure for a lifetime.
Stepping out in style, National American Miss hosts greeted each delegate and presented her with a memorable gift from her state director. The next stop was the check-in area, where they were surrounded by a dazzling display of more than 2,000 trophies and the new official “Golden Achievement in Service Award,” which were to be presented that week. The new Golden Achievement in Service Award was an exciting new addition to the program, with one young lady in each age division being awarded with a prestigious “Oscar” figurine award for her outstanding community involvement.
For the theme parties, the delegates dressed in dazzling outfits from the past, with the younger girls in ’50s styles and the older girls in ’70s fashions. This was a great way for the girls to get to make new friends from across the country, try out their skills on the dance floor, find out if those costumes endured the test of time, and even present their family contest entry, live on stage, during the lip-sync competition. |
