The perfect
evening look for the holidays is often hard to find... but
with these fresh “updo” ideas,
you can have a different style for every party simply
by starting out with a ponytail.
Even Jennifer’s “before” picture
is stunning - with her long, thick hair and naturally gorgeous
face, how could we go wrong? We wanted to highlight her
best features and wardrobe to make her shine on her evenings
out. All of these styles can be created whether your hair
is long, medium, or short - just use faux hair pieces.
The “Yvonne” updo
is bold and beautiful, and calls for an extremely confident
woman who isn’t afraid to step into the spotlight.
You will definitely be the center of attention with this
intricately placed whirl of curls. Simply smooth your
hair into a high ponytail, section off small pieces (starting
underneath) with gel, and loop and secure with bobby
pins. As you work your way to the middle of the “pony,” make
sure to make your loops looser and thicker.
TIP: Wear large loop earring to enhance these
artsy curls.
Nothing but... glamour. Jennifer is quite
stunning with all the attention simply placed on her “mane
in the middle.” This large, romantic barrel curl
is an easy ‘do for parties. We secured her hair into
a ponytail with a large scrunchie for extra fullness, then
folded her hair in half to create the fan look (tucking
the loose ends under with bobby pins in front and back).
TIP: Add shine spray to this style and make it a “glam
slam.”
The “Sassy
Marlene” updo will put all eyes on Jennifer at
her black-tie events. We turned up the heat with a spiky
but sleek look that is created from a classic barrel
curl bun. Our hair expert DJ put Jennifer’s hair
into a ponytail and sectioned it into four pieces. Each
piece was smoothed into a large barrel curl and secured.
The faux hair spikes were pinned under and through each
curl.
TIP: To make your spikes stay in place, spray upwards with
extra-hold hairspray from the nap of the neck to the crown.
Bring on the stares with this knockout updo... well,
half up and half down. Today’s hottest trends are
sometimes created by accident. For example, in this case,
as DJ was taking down the spiky barrel updo, the back section
of Jennifer’s hair fell down her back into ringlets.
We smoothed out each ringlet with a large curling iron
and pulled a few more strands from the remaining barrel
curls, and voila! The most dramatic look of all.
TIP: This updo is so eye-catching that your gown should
be simple, not overwhelming.
